Next Steps for Change in Maricopa County Elections
At this year's fourth event in the series, "Changes That Give Everyone the Right to Vote," ARIZONA COMMUNITIES FOR CHANGE PUBLIC FORUMS three outstanding experts will review the process of counting ballots during this past November election in Maricopa County and the possibility of making positive change in future election cycles.
Leading will be MATT ROBERTS, COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE' S OFFICE, who will be sharing his expertise on voting technology.
Next MARY FONTES, FEDERAL COMPLIANCE OFFICER FROM THE MARICOPA COUNTY RECORDER'S OFFICE, will be speaking on how signatures are verified in the vote by mail.
Concluding the discussion will be JOHN ROBERTS BRAKEY, NATIONAL ELECTION INTEGRITY EXPERT OF 12 YEARS from Tucson and CO-FOUNDER OF AUDIT-AZ (Americans United for Democracy, Integrity and Transparency in Arizona) who will be presenting a system to insure that election results are transparent, trackable, and publicly verifiable by citizens using ballot image technology.
A period of audience questions and comments will follow this free public forum presentation, co-sponsored by the PEOPLE DEMANDING ACTION COMMUNITY COALITION and the SOMOS AMERICA COALITION.
ARIZONA COMMUNITES FOR CHANGE PUBLIC FORUMS is a monthly educational series dedicated to the increase of civic engagement in local and statewide issues.
