Sat, May 6, 2017, 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM CDT
One of the most powerful ways that parks transform human life is by giving children access to healthy play.
Join us for an exciting discussion about the importance of play in a child's development with Janet Lansbury. We'll talk about “Celebrating Play” and inspire parents, grandparents, and child-carers of all kinds to embrace the joys and benefits of encouraging self-directed exploration of the great outdoors among children. Lansbury's insights into un-structuring play will open up even greater opportunities for learning, joy and connection, whether it’s in your backyard, neighborhood park, or more natural areas near or far.
Lansbury’s presentation will be the centerpiece of park-based kids-welcome Saturday afternoon event featuring innovative ways to bring families and communities together through play. Children are welcome to attend, but not required.
