Event description

Description

Our Newly Assigned Institute prepares new librarians in the Department of Education to hit the ground running in developing a library program and providing instruction that benefits students. It is delivered over 4 days in the course of the year, with 2 days in August or December with a cohort and days 3 & 4 bringing both cohorts together.

DOE Library Media Specialists and Teachers Assigned to the Library are eligible to receive a free iPad mini to support their digital instruction on Day 2 of the program. Participants must also attend both days to be eligible to receive it. If there are more participants who attend both days than we have iPad iminis we may raffle them to qualifying attendees (15 iPad minis to distribute).

This is the registration for Day 1.

This program is eligible for 5 hours of CTLE credit in Pedagogy.

The New York City Department of Education is recognized by the New York State Education Department's Office of Teaching Initiatives as an approved sponsor of CTLE for Professional Classroom Teachers, School Leaders and Level III Teaching Assistants.
