Event description

Description

Do know want to learn how to use the resources in Foundation Center’s New York Library? Are you interested in finding out why so many New Yorkers over the last 60 years have visited our library/learning center to learn about philanthropy and the social sector? Attend our New York Library Orientation and receive an introduction to Foundation Center’s activities and the resources of our New York Library. This Library Orientation is for students, practitioners, board members, founders, social entrepreneurs, start-ups, civic activists, educators, social workers, artists and filmmakers, grassroots organizations, community developers, librarians, representatives from government agencies, philanthropists and volunteers.

You will learn the most important things you need to know about using the Foundation Center’s New York Library, including:

  • What funding and nonprofit research databases you can access for free from the library’s network.
  • What kind of information does the library have onsite that you can’t access from your home or office
  • How do you best use the library’s physical space and technology resources

It is advisable, but not necessary, to allow for time after the class for using the library at your own pace.

Registrants requiring disability-related services are asked to contact Foundation Center by calling (212) 620-4230. Please allow at least two weeks advance notice so that we may best accommodate your request.

Please arrive on time or your seat may be given away to others who are waiting to attend. The location is wheelchair accessible.
