Join Community Connections for a private, docent-led tour of the New-York Historical Society’s “The First Jewish Americans: Freedom and Culture in the New World” exhibition. This ground-breaking exhibition uses portraits, drawings, maps, documents, and ritual objects to follows the trajectory of Jews driven from their homes Europe, South America and the Caribbean, through their controversial arrival in New Amsterdam in 1654 to the unprecedented political freedoms they gained in early 19th-century New York, Philadelphia, and Charleston.
Tickets are $10 for Stephen Wise members and $20 for guests. We are meeting at the New-York Historical Society Membership desk at 170 Central Park West at 77th Street. The cost of admission includes full-day admission to all museum exhibits, a 10 percent discount at the museum store, and a voucher for reduced future admission.
