KUTX Presents New Year’s Eve with Grupo Fantasma and Superfónicos benefitting The Nobelity Project's work in Texas and Latin America

About this Event

Join us December 31st, 2019 at the centennial ranch for a night of latin music, dance, and spirits with ambience inspired by top designers set under a luxurious tent.

Our New Year's Eve gala was born out of the desire to create a truly immersive live music and dance experience in a beautiful, natural setting without the hassle of downtown crowds, fighting for parking, or waiting in lines. Guests can expect live music and dancing all night in a beautiful and luxurious setting outside of the mayhem of downtown.

In true Carson Creek Ranch style this event spans beyond music and dance, including specialty cocktails inspired by the music, champagne, complimentary desserts, and snacks available from Austin’s best food trucks.

Help us ring in the New Year with live music, dance, and by supporting the terrific work of The Nobelity Project in Texas and Latin America.

💥 The Nobelity Project💥

Founded in 2005 by Turk and Christy Pipkin, The Nobelity Project is based in Austin, Texas and addresses issues of global education. Their partnerships build critically needed school infrastructure, support literacy and scholarship, and promote conservation and community service. The organization works to increase access to education, improving quality of learning, expanding opportunity, and creating connections to the world we all share.

Filmmakers by trade, Turk and Christy produce documentaries engaging with Nobel Laureates and other global leaders exploring potential solutions to the challenges facing us all. Now taking direct action in partnership with communities in Kenya, Honduras and the U.S. they serve over 15,000 students annually.

💥Two internationally renowned producers bring this gala to life 💥

Senior Producer, Art Arellanes has a long career producing live award shows, television specials, and global philanthropic events. He was the Executive Producer of the New Millennium Concert for the President of the United Nations General Assembly, and worked on award-winning productions including “America: A Tribute to Heroes,” “A Supernatural Evening with Carlos Santana,” Super Bowl Halftime shows, White House specials, and numerous MTV award shows in the US, Europe, and Latin America.

Co-producer, Lionel Max Pasamonte has over 30 years experience in media production directing multi-camera variety and sports events for MTV, Fox, DreamWorks, Microsoft, ASCAP, NARAS and Billboard among others. He was an Executive Producer of MUN2, the NBC / Telemundo owned music channel during its re-branding and launch. Currently, Lionel is the consulting producer for both the MTV Latin America’s “MIAWs” (Millennial Awards) and Nickelodeon’s “Kids Choice Awards” live from Mexico City, as well as working on multiple Latin Grammys.

⚡️Grupo Fantasma⚡️

Grupo Fantasma was started in Austin in 2000. The band has been praised as one of the most important independent acts in the Latin genre and has continually defied expectations to create one of the most unique musical voices to come out of the United States in the 21st century. In 2011, they garnered further acclaim by winning a Grammy for their self–produced release “El Existential” on Nat Geo Music which the Wall Street Journal called “Latin music both new and traditional…vibrant fusions that transcend easy classification...” The band has collaborated with Prince, Los Lobos, Sheila E, GZA of Wu-Tang Clan, and many others. Their seventh full-length album “American Music Vol. VII” was released in March 2019 on Blue Corn Music.

⚡️Superfonicos⚡️

Superfónicos, also from Austin, is Colombian Funk. Better yet, it is Caríbe Soul…fed by the Indigenous and African roots of the band’s Colombian heritage, telegraphing a politics of peace and unity from the stage to your ears. They only ask that you dance toward a place in your mind beyond struggle and strife. From its creation, Superfónicos was meant to create a group with a foundation in Afro-Colombian rhythms. The band has developed a musical mesitzo that is ever-changing but deeply rooted in Caribbean flavors.
