New Year - New Art Fund

Each year the Arts Council works to expand our programs and services. Our goal is to reach every resident from the youngest child to senior citizens with programs that enrich, engange and enhance our lives. This mission has helped us lauch projects in partnership with local artists and community groups providing more programs and services each year.
The Arts Council is gearing up for 2014. Our year-end membership drive and donations to our Art Fund help us plan for new programs. It is not to late to be part of the team that makes great art and art program possible in Lafayette County with a tax deductable donation to the Arts Council.
The volunteers, Board of Directors, staff and artists of the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council invite you to be part of our New Year - New Art drive. Become a member and support the efforts of the arts council or donate to the Art Fund.
Members receive discounts on Arts Council programs and classes, free tickets to special events, and our weekly e-newsletter highlighting all the art events in the community.
The Art Fund helps us launch new programs. The Arts Council is able to provide support to local artists, offer new programs, and seed new community programs. 100% of funds donated to the Art Fund support programs in our community. If you are a member it is your chance to support new projects your the community.
A short list of new programs scheduled for 2014:
* Artomaton: A vending machine that sells small works of art by local artists. This new effort will give local artists a "store" that is always open selling small works of art and introdcuing local artist to the community, tourists, and visitors.
* Mini Films: Shorts by local film makers about what is exciting, unique, and special about Lafayette County.
* Stuck on Art: A one day event that gives everyone a chance to be part of a community art project.
* Festival: We can't tell you all the details but the Arts Council, working with local groups, will be part of a new festival in Oxford. There is sure to be food and fun for everyone.
It is not to late to be part of the team that makes Oxford and Lafayette County special. Join us as a member or make a donation to our Art Fund to support new programs.
