Description

The UN Chamber Music Society, in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to the United Nations, the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York and Czech Center New York, present the NEW WORLD CONCERT.

Under the High Patronage of the Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the United Nations, H.E. Mrs. Marie Chatardová, you are invited to attend a concert by the UN Chamber Music Society of the United Nations Staff Recreation Council – dedicated to the Czech Republic, as part of the New York Philharmonic’s “New World Initiative.” The programme will feature the greatest Czech composers and their masterpieces, including a chamber music arrangement of Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 in E Minor, Op. 95: From the New World.

The concert will take place in the ballroom of the Bohemian National Hall - the landmark building built in part by the proceeds of an Antonín Dvořák led concert in 1892. In celebration of the 125th anniversary of his arrival to New York the Czech Center New York will be hosting a series of concerts in 2017 called Dvořák's New World.

Cost: Free. Donations welcome.
