About this Event

Join us as we demo UBC’s new HR and Finance system, Workday, which is launching in April!

Date: Wednesday, October 30, 2019

Time: 10:00 am – 12 pm

Location: The Great Hall (2nd Floor) in the Nest

About the event: This demo-style event is open to all UBC faculty and staff to learn more about the new HR and Finance system (Workday) being implemented in April 2020, as part of the Integrated Renewal Program (IRP).

At this event, you’ll learn why UBC has embarked on a journey to transform its systems and processes and how faculty and staff can expect to benefit. You will also have the opportunity to see what Workday looks like through a series of live demos.

Finance demo will include:

  • procure to pay from an end user perspective
  • receipt of goods to facilitate 3-way match of invoice payment
  • invoice coding
  • explaining the difference between accounting adjustments/accounting journals/internal sale
  • Demo Accounting adjustment
  • Example of a report

HCM/HR demo will include:

  • 'Employee as Self’
  • find your pay cheques, compensation, benefits enrollment (including beneficiary’s) as well as your Time Off/Accrual Banks (Sick, Vacation, Banked OT).

There will also be an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

About the Integrated Renewal Program: To support UBC’s learning, research and working environment, we need to renew our administrative process and replace aging systems.
