The public is invited to attend an open afternoon session of the Board on Agriculture and Natural Resources (BANR) on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the National Academy of Sciences building in Washington, DC.
The open session (1:00 - 5:00 pm in Room 125) will explore two related themes: High-tech Innovations for Agriculture (with an overview presentation by John Hamer, Investment Director for Monsanto Growth Ventures,) and Research Tools for Agriculture in the Face of Climate Change (including a presentation on remote sensing of ground water by Jay Famiglietti, Professor of Earth Science, UC Irvine and Sr. Water Scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory). Registration in advance is helpful to ensure sufficient seating.
