Event Details

The revolution has already happened, and most of us haven't even noticed.  Students carry smartphones with immediate access to more information than the Library of Congress, they develop social media sites that attract hundreds of thousands of followers, and are exposed to images and ideas of a scope that far exceeds anything experienced by human beings in history.  We are living in times of such rapid change that even Gutenberg's invention of the printing press pales by comparison.

What does it all mean for Jewish education?

These three seminars will explore the opportunities and challenges presented by these web-based technologies, from practical applications of new programs like Prezi, teaching with social media tools like Edmodo, and the exciting new possibilities of the "flipped classroom" through using online video technology. Finally, the emerging concept of "stickiness," developed primarily as a marketing tool, will be explored for its pedagogic advantage.

These workshops are optimized for educators in Jewish schools, regardless of technological facility with online educational tools.
