Event description

Description

Celebrate (and help support) our brand new, completely rebuilt and enhanced Rocketship and Mission Control Exhibit!

Join us for:

  • Cool STEM activities (science, technology, engineering, math) are embedded within the exhibit, the result of two years of brainstorming sessions with space scientists, museum educators, early childhood professionals and parents of young children.

  • For older children, "Missions" will challenge them - with parent support and engagement, of course!

  • In the Art Studio, activities include make-and-take crater models, splatter paint constellations, and glow-in-the-dark star maps.

  • For grownups (and precocious kids), Jack Miller, Berkeley Lab scientist working with the NASA space program will be on hand to talk about protecting astronauts from space radiation on future missions to the moon and Mars. And Brandon McGlone, a pilot for NASA who has taken photos of outer space from the edge of our atmosphere, will answer children's questions about space travel.

  • Snacks and beverages provided.

Exhibit funding provided by Habitot donors and:

100% of proceeds from tonight's party will support the development and fabrication of new exhibits!
