About this event

Join film historian Max Alvarez for the sixth session in a nine-part course on the craftsmanship behind some of the greatest films and filmmaking talents of all time. In each 90-minute weekly session, Max will focus on a key aspect of moviemaking and present scene selections and rare archival discoveries.

You can sign up for THIS individual class for $40. Each single session will be offered for $40.

All sessions will include pre work and a post program quiz to provide the learner with a more in depth experience.

Cutting it Together: The Film Editor

Men and women who literally cut and paste images to create a finished film are among the most important components of moviemaking. This session examines how editing evolved throughout the 20th century, from the influences of Soviet and German filmmakers of the 1930s to modern computerized editing systems. Guest tutorials will be provided by Ingmar Bergman and Alfred Hitchcock!
