During the past year in Portugal, the government has been talking about the prospects for contracts for postdocs as well as new positions for researchers. This day-long event/conference focusing on academic careers will feature speakers at different stages in their career: researcher, mid-career professor, full professor and the Ministry of Science.
The objectives of this event are to:
Present different perspectives about academic careers and discuss with the government the new prospects in academia after completing the PhD;
Provide a network between MSc and PhD students and postdoctoral fellows;
Be an opportunity for attendees to understand what the steps are for an academic career as well as the directions of government for science;
Provide a workshop on Scientific Writing and Publishing for young researchers to improve their skills on writing and publishing.
