About Somatic Release Breathwork:
Your nervous system is the electrical network of your being. Over time, unresolved trauma, or chronic stress causes dysregulation of this network. When dysregulated, difficulties in your personal or professional life will arise. When you heal trauma and stress, you heal the electrical network of your nervous system. When you heal the nervous system, you heal the emotional self so your authentic self can emerge.
Somatic Release Breathwork is an embodiment experience. It takes you out of your thinking mind and into your body’s electrical network. It lets you release unneeded energy within this network caused by repeating thoughts, feelings, and old narratives by discharging it out through your body.
Somatic Release Breathwork employs circular connected breathing coupled with rhythmic music to produce a cathartic emotional release. This release may be in the form of moving, shaking, yelling, crying, or laughing. Using the breath, you will engage your innate ability to heal and sweep out any defenses, blockages, restrictions, or pains that hold you back from who you are and how you want to show up in this world.
Please give yourself permission to fully express whatever emotions call to be expressed during our session. This could look like crying, screaming, laughter, and joy. The body also likes to express emotions by shaking during a breathwork session. This is the animal body’s natural way of moving energy that wants to be released. Give yourself permission to shake extremities without questioning why.
This is an internal journey. Eyes will remain closed. Eye covers are welcomed, but not necessary.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to grab your preferred spot in the circle. We suggest bringing a yoga matt water bottle, pillow, small blanket, snack, or anything you need for comfort during this ceremony. Yoga matts and bolsters will be provided.
Avoid eating a large meal 30 minutes prior to our start time. Fasting is also permitted.
Breathwork is a detoxification of the system. Following our session drink a lot of water, eat a healthy meal, journal, and hold yourself gently throughout the day. It’s ok to be extra energized after a session, as well as extra tired and sensitive following a session.
We are opening the somatic wisdom deep within the body, allow yourself to have space, compassion and reverence for the processes that are activated, through the breath, during and after a session.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out!
