Event description

Description

BUILDING WATER RESILIENCE FOR NEW MEXICO COMMUNITIES

The New Mexico Water Dialogue has been holding annual, statewide meetings for 25 years. This year we focus on building resilience.

As our climate changes, temperatures rise with greater extremes between hot and cold, and droughts and floods become more severe. Resilience is the capacity of a system to respond to disturbance by resisting damage and recovering quickly.

Speakers include David Gutzler, UNM, an overview of what New Mexico can expect, Melinda Harm Benson, UNM, resilience as a lens for governance, and Rep. Melanie Stansbury.

Registration includes lunch catered by the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center and morning and afternoon beverages and snacks. By registering early, you help us plan for these items. Scholarships are available to full-time students, email Consuelo for more information (consuelobokum@gmail.com). Credit cards can be used online only. Alternatively, you may mail a check to NMWD, c/o Consuelo Bokum, 1300 Canyon Rd., Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The fee after January 6, 2020 is $70 and must be paid at the door on the day of the meeting.
