Join KQED's Education Network for a training institute on new media tools in the arts classroom!

A wide range of new media tools is now available for free online. Discover new ways to document projects, increase student engagment, and enrich students' experiences of art in a three-part workshop at KQED in San Francisco.

This training institute is open to teachers and teaching artists working with grades 3 - 12.

Please register ONLY if you are able to attend all three days of the institute.

Day 1 & 2 (May 15th & 16th)

Friday 5pm - 7pm

  • Photographing student artwork, best practices
  • Uploading photos to Flickr, adding photos to "Group Photo Pools"

Saturday 12pm - 5pm

  • Blogs as assessment and documentation tools, and assignent distribution platforms
  • Podcast production training
  • Assigment: Produce a short video podcast at home. Support will be available through May and June from KQED staff.

Day 3 (June 27th)

Saturday 12pm - 5pm

  • View video podcasts and discussion on implementation and instruction using new media tools
  • Podcast dissemination training - uploading and streaming
