Event description
Hosted by the NJ Child Nutrition Fund, the NJ Summer Meals Summit brings together a working group focused on the SFSP landscape.

About this Event

The NJ Summer Meals Summit is hosted by the New Jersey Child Nutrition Fund (NJCNF), a program created and administered by the Reinvestment Fund in partnership with Hunger Free New Jersey and Advocates for Children of NJ. This initiative is supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

NJCNF provides capital funding and technical assistance for federal nutrition program sponsors, sites, and meal vendors to expand the availability of fresh and nutritious food to children across the state of New Jersey.

The goal of this convening is to bring together a working group of Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) stakeholders in order to:

  • Lift up strong programs and best practices throughout the state
  • Understand the requirements for school district participation
  • Identify the resources available for programs/sites
  • Explore how schools can collaborate with community based organizations
