Event description

Description

Looking for a new way to join the Marine Corps community? Have a passion for museums or history? The National Museum of the Marine Corps is seeking Docents!

Docents volunteer in the historical galleries, sharing the Marine Corps story with visitors. This is a great opportunity to engage with visitors and give them a memorable and exciting experience. Volunteers provide essential services to the Marine Corps Museum by providing valuable information to our visitors about the exhibits, activities, services, and more.

The ideal candidate need not have served in the Marines or have any ties to the military. The chief requirements are an interest in Marine Corps history and plenty of energy! If you're looking for a volunteer role that allows you to meet people from across the Marine Corps and around the world, this is for you!

Scheduling is flexible: We are open from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM every day except Christmas.

Volunteer positions are open to all individuals with an interest and a commitment of service to the Museum who meet qualifications without reference to race, color, religion, sex, age, or national origin. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and able to perform their prescribed duties. A minimum time commitment of 8 hours per month is required to maintain active volunteer status. Volunteers work independently, with other volunteers, and with permanent Museum staff. New Docents receive Mentoring from experienced Docents, so you are NOT alone in this new experience!

** TRAINING IS EVERY SATURDAY FROM FEBRUARY 2 THROUGH MARCH 30 **

** 8AM-Noon**
