About this Event

How the current crisis has impacted your sustainability investing strategy and how to plan 2021?

Erica Lasdon, Sr. Consultant at Global Affairs Associates, will share her deep knowledge of ESG investing that she has developed over the last 15 years. She will highlight the main trends in investing despite the Covid circumstances, and also describe the perspectives in terms of equity and fixed income investments that 2021 may offer.

Charlotte Peyraud, Vice President of Sustainable banking at Credit Agricole CIB, will present the financial instruments used to help companies to implement their sustainability strategy and the conditions to meet to be eligible.

Jeanne-Mey Sun, Vice President Sustainability at NRG Energy, will highlight the industrial perspective with NRG Energy becoming the First North American Company to Issue Sustainability-Linked Bond that will support the company’s efforts to pursue growth, achieve its climate transition strategy with the target of a net-zero carbon footprint by 2050.

All speakers will explain the main mechanisms and challenges of these green investment opportunities and how to build an adequate energy transition strategy benefiting your company. Erica, Charlotte, and Jeanne-Mey have some interesting success stories to share with you!

The panel will be followed by a 30 min Q&A session.

Charlotte Peyraud, Vice President, Sustainable Banking Americas

Charlotte joined the Credit Agricole CIB (CACIB) Sustainable Banking team in 2018. She leads CACIB’s sustainable finance activities for the Americas and has been involved in structuring a number of green, social and sustainability bonds and loans. Charlotte has focused on sustainability issues her whole career working with organizations including Green Seal, Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) Climate Corps, and ESG Analytics. Most recently, Charlotte joined CACIB from Sustainalytics, a firm focused on providing Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) research to investors. Charlotte holds a Master of Science degree in Sustainability Management from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business from James Madison University.

Erica Lasdon, Senior Consultant, ESG Investment Management

Erica Lasdon is a seasoned ESG professional bringing 20+ years of experience from the investment and non-profit sectors. She specializes in ESG integration, materiality analysis, investment trends, and engagement strategy. A versatile strategist skilled at communicating ESG issues and practices to non-specialist audiences, Erica is a trusted partner to improve ESG processes and outcomes at companies and within investment systems.

Erica played a central role in ESG investment functions at Calvert, a responsible investment pioneer, leading various functions from 2005 through 2019. As Director of Sustainability Research, she directed development of the in-house ESG investment ratings system, used in 2015 to launch new investment products and revamp the existing product suite. Prior to that, she was responsible for managing fund research, portfolio manager relationships, and client communications. Erica has deep expertise on multi-stakeholder engagement, proxy voting, and ESG data analysis and management.

Erica served on the development team for the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board’s Level II exam for the inaugural FSA credential. She also served on the Steering Committee for the Intentional Endowments Network and as an Advisory Committee Member for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Culture of Health for Business framework. Erica earned a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in History from the University of California, San Diego. Erica was raised in Texas and currently resides in Washington DC.

Jeanne Mey Sun

Jeanne-Mey Sun, Ph.D., has a diverse background that spans sustainability and the energy transition, corporate strategy, management consulting, and economic and policy research.

Jeanne-Mey currently serves as Vice President, Sustainability, at NRG Energy, Inc., where she leads the company’s sustainability strategy. Key priorities include working to achieve the target of a net-zero carbon footprint by 2050, and advancing sustainability solutions and standards for new and existing NRG customers.

Prior to joining NRG, Jeanne-Mey was Executive, Energy Transition and Clean Energy Solutions at Baker Hughes Company, a global energy technology firm. There, she led the development and operationalization of its energy transition strategy, which included writing the company’s commitment to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, building a portfolio of low-carbon solutions, and working with key customers on joint carbon footprint reduction efforts. Other leadership roles at Baker Hughes included leading strategic growth initiatives and corporate strategy.

Prior to Baker Hughes, Jeanne-Mey was Vice President, Strategy at Sysco Corporation, the global foodservice marketer, distributor, and supply chain company; and Principal at global management consultancy, A.T. Kearney, where she served clients in multiple industries, including consumer products, retail, and automotive.
