 June 17, 2015

Luncheon Meeting – 11:30 a.m. til 1 p.m.

Brennan’s Party Center

13000 Triskett Road, Cleveland, 44111

When a new employee comes on board, there is a period of orientation and training in which the employee learns the company’s policies, procedures, benefits, safety and health program, emergency action plan, fire protection policy, and other things unique to the company. This is also an excellent opportunity to show the important role that safety plays in the company.

Ms. Corso will provide insight into a New Employee Orientation Program related to safety considerations. She will begin with hiring smart, looking into what you need to know about prospective employees. She will continue with “on-boarding” the process of acquiring, accommodating, assimilating and accelerating new employees into your organization. On-boarding covers areas of employee information, review of company handbook and policies, general considerations, PPE training, company specific hazards, driving specific policies, job specific training and facility security and safety. She will also discuss policy enforcement, accident/injury reporting, harassment, work place violence claims investigation and discipline.

Jennifer Corso has represented Cleveland area employers in labor and employment law for almost 20 years. Jennifer offers employers a proactive approach to employment matters, innovative solutions, and top rate advocacy in defending employee claims. She is certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a Specialist in Labor and Employment Law, and has written several articles and spoken at numerous seminars and to community business groups on employment law topics. Jennifer received her law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. She is licensed to practice before all courts in the State of Ohio and the United States Federal Court in the Northern District of Ohio.
