Event description

Description

As the UNGPs become more widely understood and embedded in legislation and company policies, there is deepening experience of implementing due diligence on human rights within supply chains and operations.

But what have we learned about effective risk assessment methods, where the key risks lie and where the agenda is going?

This free, informal, workshop-style event will explore emerging lessons from conducting human rights risk assessments in a variety of business contexts. Build around practical examples from Ergon and our clients, it will draw on expert experience of conducting human rights due diligence in sectors ranging from banks to brands and hospitality to oil and gas, spanning a variety of supply chains, business segments and geographies.

We will discuss emerging questions, techniques and outcomes, including:

  • Where is human rights due diligence taking us after Modern Slavery?
  • How can supply chain risk assessment drill down beyond country rankings?
  • What business relationships pose risks beyond product supply chains?
  • How can risks be prioritised to enable effective allocation of resources?
  • What does prevention, mitigation and remedy look like?

When: Tuesday 27th February 2018, 9.00 – 10.30am (coffee and croissants available from 08.45am)

Where: Wallace Space, 18 Clerkenwell Green, Clerkenwell, London EC1R 0DP
