Event description
Government Affairs Committee Meeting with Assemblymember Mullin

About this event

Please join BPC’s Government Affairs Committee on Friday, July 17th from 10:00AM to 11:00AM as we host special guest Assemblymember Kevin Mullin (D-San Mateo) for an in depth review and robust discussion about two bills the Assemblymember introduced this session: AB 2809 and AB 2621. AB 2809 would implement the enforcement recommendations in the recent state audit of the San Francisco Development and Conservation Commission (BCDC) audit, which was released last year. AB 2621 is a climate change adaptation planning bill that will authorize certain local government entities to establish and participate in a regional climate network to prepare a regional climate adaptation action plan for specific regions. The bill would also require the Office of Planning and Research to make recommendations on how the state should support the creation of regional climate networks and the potential funding sources available to support for the creation and implementation of these plans.

Kevin Mullin was first elected in 2012 and re-elected in 2014, 2016 and 2018 to the California State Assembly representing the 22nd District in San Mateo County. In December 2018 he was sworn in as Assembly Speaker pro Tem for the 2016-17 legislative session, and continues to serve as the #2 officer in the Assembly, regularly presiding over Assembly floor sessions.
