PACSP is hosting a New Charter School Roundtable featuring the founders of Pennsylvania’s most recently approved charter schools. This session is intended for anyone considering starting a charter school. Our panelists will share their best practices that helped them get their application approved.
Our panel will include:
Emily Hurst, Executive Director, Philadelphia Hebrew Public Charter School
Emily serves as Philadelphia Hebrew Public’s founding Executive Director, building the organizational infrastructure necessary to support the school’s mission. Beginning in 2016, she guided the Hebrew Public team through a feasibility study and successful charter application before joining full-time to lead the school’s launch.
Brian Smith, Founder & CEO, Catalyst Academy Charter School
Brian Smith is the Founder & CEO of Catalyst Academy. Brian started Catalyst Academy based on his deeply-held belief that all children, and especially historically disadvantaged children, should have access to a great education, one that can be a catalyst for changing the lives of their family and community.
Stephen Catanzarite, Chairman, Founders Committee, at Midland Innovation + Technology Charter School (MITCS) and Founder, Baden Academy Charter School
Set to open in September 2021, MITCS is a new public charter high school providing students in grades 9 through 12 the opportunity to tackle real-life projects and courses of study to prepare them for a world of opportunity! Founder, Stephen Catanzarite has successfully founded two charter schools and is also a former PCPCS Board member.
Our panel will also include Pat Hennessy, partner at Conrad O’Brien and Alan T. Shuckrow, shareholder at Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky .
