Between hoppy beers and cheesy bread, Sarah, Lyric, Ben and Matt from Vertica will do a deep dive into their tech, use cases and learning from some of their biggest instances with clients like Zynga (3TB per day), Groupon and Twitter.
6 - 7pm: Drinks, food and catching-up
7 - 8pm: Quick intro to Vertica and then breakout discussions on various tools and use cases
8 - 8:30pm: Open Q&A about Vertica, databases in general and Vertica's new free Community Edition
Vertica Systems is an analytic database management software company based in Cambridge, MA. Vertica was founded in 2005 by database researcher Michael Stonebraker as a way to commercialize C-Store, a database management system (DBMS) based on a column-oriented DBMS developed by a team at Brown University, Brandeis University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, including Michael Stonebraker, Stanley Zdonik, and Samuel Madden (MIT).
