Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

Stories or narratives have been shared in every culture as a means of entertainment and education -- with a larger intent to connect. With disruptive technologies and new mediums always emerging, storytelling has expanded dramatically. For brands, causes and companies, the monumental shift in how we absorb and distribute content is impacting our approach on all fronts: collaboration, org structure, budget and more. Our panel will talk about their industry experiences and how they’re defining stories today.

OUR PANEL:

Dina Cappiello - Editorial Director @ Edelman
@dinacappiello
Dina Cappiello is the Editorial Director for Edelman’s D.C. office, where she lead storytelling efforts for a wide range of clients and specializes in building integrated newsrooms and news bureaus for clients across channels. Prior to joining Edelman, in 2015 Cappiello spent 15 years as an energy and environmental journalist, most recently as the national energy and environment writer for The Associated Press, where her beat encompassed the Environmental Protection Agency, offshore oil and gas drilling, nuclear energy, coal and global warming policy. Cappiello contributed to AP’s coverage of the Gulf oil spill, international climate negotiations, and the Japan nuclear disaster -- and was in charge of covering the intersection between politics and the environment in Congress, in courts and national elections.

Rachna Choudhry - Co-Founder & CMO @ Popvox
@rachnacDC
Rachna Choudhry co-founded POPVOX.com, a nonpartisan platform that connects people with their lawmakers. For her, advocacy has always been about sharing personal stories to influence policymaking. To that end, she consults with nonprofit groups and associations to develop and implement grassroots and digital advocacy strategies.

Meghan Walsh - Senior Director, Content Strategy @ Hilton
@megwalsh05
A self-proclaimed content nerd, Meg Walsh spends her days figuring out answers to Hilton's content questions around strategy, structure, management, technology and distribution. Her focus is empowering the enterprise to create meaningful, relevant content in order to deliver the best consumer experiences the teams can imagine.

Moderated by Katie Krum - Sr. Director, Digital Marketing @ Under Armour
