The course will review neuroanatomy & physiology of motor control in neurotypical individuals or individuals with neuromuscular disorders.

About this Event

Rehabilitation of individuals with neuromuscular disorders requires fundamental understanding of sensory, motor and cognitive deficits resulting from disease/injury. Further, mechanistic processes that contribute to, or impede functional recovery are critical for clinical decision making for optimizing rehabilitation. Strong evidence and its implementation by a skilled clinician hinges on their understanding of fundamental mechanisms of motor control, motor learning and neuroplasticity. Specifically, we will use movement system framework to apply the knowledge of motor control, learning and neuroplasticity to clinical interventions focused on improving functional motor recovery. Finally, we will discuss clinical case examples to help assess and design evidence-informed interventions that are grounded in the theory of motor control and learning. Intermediate level content is consistent with post professional education

Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be submitted to the MossRehab in writing. Please explain the circumstances of the cancellation in an e-mail to ensure a timely response. Requests received 3 days or 72 hours prior to course start will result in a full refund. Requests received less than 3 days (72 hours) prior to the course start will result in a nonrefundable administration processing fee of $50.00 or 50% of registration cost (whichever is less). No shows or cancellations within 24 hours of the course start will be ineligible for a refund. MossRehab will reimburse you the cost of the registration, if we have to cancel a course due to low enrollment, weather, or an emergency situation. We are not responsible for any other costs associated with attending a conference. If you are on the waiting list of a course and do not get in, we will not charge your credit card; if you paid by check we will send the check back to you.
