Description

Learn how to participate in the design, fabrication and installation of a memorial to the Bethel Burying Ground.

The Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy and the Bethel Burying Ground Historic Site Memorial Committee are commissioning a site-specific public art memorial for the historic Bethel Burying Ground underneath Weccacoe Playground at 400 Catherine Street. This event is to ensure that a diverse community of creative professionals (i.e. public artists, architects, landscape architects, etc.) are aware of the opportunity for the design and construction of a memorial to the Bethel Burying Ground and related changes to Weccacoe Playground.

Attend to:

  • Learn about the Bethel Burying Ground and its role in Philadelphia’s history

  • Hear about the City of Philadelphia’s plan to develop a meaningful memorial that reveals this vital story and celebrates those laid to rest there

  • Meet other creative professionals and begin thinking about the design team needed to apply

Meeting attendance is not required to respond to the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) opportunity when it is posted.
