About this Event

Join Scala-DC-MD-Nova, hatch IT, and QOMPLX for an exciting evening of food, drink, networking, and learning.

This will be a stimulating event whether you're new to Scala or an old pro. Stu Baurmann and Bhashit Parikh of QOMPLX will present "Scala-Adjacent Patterns and Trends." There will be opportunities for networking and asking questions before and after the presentation.

"Scala-Adjacent Patterns and Trends" is a survey of useful design patterns and current trends in systems utilizing strong type safety and functional programming, with or without involving our dear Scala itself. Languages discussed include Clojure, Rust, Haskell, Idris, and NetLogo .

Instructive design topics span formal type theory, constructive proofs, NoSQL schema regulation, and agent based models. Attendees are encouraged to install NetLogo on their laptops, so that they may follow along with our agent examples: https://ccl.northwestern.edu/netlogo/

RSVP soon and share with anyone you know who's interested in learning more about Scala or joining the DC Metro area scalalang community.
