Quandl - Co-founder and Chief Data Officer

Abraham Thomas is co-founder and CEO of Quandl, the marketplace for financial, economic and alternative data.An expert data analyst, Abraham handles all data-related operations for Quandl: identification, acquisition, curation, organization and dissemination. Abraham co-founded Quandl after a successful career on Wall Street, where he was the youngest ever trader at a multi-billion-dollar hedge fund. At this fund, Abraham conceived, designed and executed a number of quantitative data-driven investment strategies while managing a $300mn arbitrage portfolio, building cutting-edge trading technology along the way. Abraham has a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay.

TMX Insights – Senior Data Scientist

Stephen is an experienced quant and algorithmic trader with over 20 years of capital markets experience. As a Senior Data Scientist at TMX Insights, he provides leadership in the development of products related to trading analytics and market insights.

Stephen began his career as a quant pricing and structuring customized interest rate derivatives. He has worked extensively as an independent consultant and has a broad range of experience with trading technology and market risk management. Prior to joining TMX, he worked as a quantitative trader, developing algorithms for high-frequency trading, statistical arbitrage, and optimal execution. Stephen has a PhD in Applied Math from the University of Waterloo.

Open Text Corporation - Vice President, Investor Relations

Greg Secord is Vice President, Investor Relations for Open Text Corporation with responsibility for relations with sell-side analysts and institutional investors. Mr. Secord has 20 years of IR experience in both North American and European capital markets, and has managed IR through over 50 acquisitions. He has consulted, advised and counseled many industry leaders including some of the largest technology and insurance companies in Canada. He has created presentation materials for the Toronto Stock Exchange to educate executives of newly listed companies on the fundamentals of best practices IR. Mr. Secord has also been quoted in industry trade publications and is a published contributor to post-secondary textbooks on business and accounting.

Mr. Secord is a member of NIRI’s board of directors and chair of NIRI’s Senior Roundtable. He is the recipient of numerous IR Magazine Awards in Canada including for Best Investor Relations Officer, Best Overall Investor Relations, Best Use of Technology and Best Investment Community Meetings.

Q4 Inc. - SVP Intelligence

Adam is an experienced capital markets intelligence professional with 17 years of service in the industry. In his role as Senior Vice President of Intelligence at Q4, Adam is responsible for directing the overall vision and growth of Q4’s Intelligence Division, which provides intelligence solutions for public companies, including: stock surveillance, capital markets intelligence, trading analytics, activist watch, options intelligence, desktop management solutions, and more.

Prior to joining Q4, Adam was CEO & Co-founder of Oxford Intelligence Partners, a Capital Markets Intelligence firm which was acquired by Q4 in 2015. Previous to Oxford, Adam spent 5 years as the Managing Director of NASDAQ’s Corporate Solutions Group, and before that was a Partner at Bloom Partners. Adam began his career in IR services at Thomson Financial in 1999. He has also obtained the Series 7, 52 and 63 licenses. Adam graduated with a BS in Finance from Miami University, Oxford, OH.

On a personal front, Darrell is an avid cyclist and mountain biker and lives in Toronto with his wife and is a proud father of two children. Darrell studied Business and Computer Science at York University.
