About this Event

Fund Development is all about strong relationships. In order to advance your mission you need to know how to expand your network and invite new people to support your work. That stranger across the room could be your next major donor, board member or volunteer, but you’ll never know if you don’t make a connection. In this fun, interactive session you’ll have a safe space and support from a networking expert to hone your elevator pitch, practice making introductions, and learn practical tips for successful networking that you can use right away. You’ll learn strategies for making powerful connections at networking events, galas, workshops, conferences, lunches, and even personal social events.

This session will help even the shyest Executive Director, Board Member or Development Professional learn how to get comfortable talking to strangers, make meaningful connections, and find new advocates, donors and friends. Develop your networking skills and learn how to empower others to become your cause ambassadors.

Back-to-Back (AM and PM session on same day): $50 for both ($35 for the first seminar and $15 for the second one)

As Chief Development Officer at Westside Food Bank since 2004, Genevieve is an expert at creating meaningful connections that turn into significant support for the organization. She raises two million dollars a year in support from individuals, foundations, businesses and more. She is experienced in strategic planning and board recruitment and has served on the Executive Committees of several nonprofit boards. She was the host and producer for 30 episodes of City TV Santa Monica’s “Nonprofit Profiles”show, which still airs daily and she has led numerous trainings on fundraising, media engagement and communications.
