Yankee Swap!

This is going to be great. Maybe you've swapped with family, friends, and colleagues. It's fun, right? Imagine swapping with total strangers who happen to be huge nerds. The possibilities are MAGICAL and HILARIOUS.

Interested?

Bring an unlabeled, wrapped gift worth no more than ten dollars ($10). Because our gracious host venue is a bar, no food or alcohol allowed. Each gift bearer picks from a hat a number from one to the total number of participants (maximum of 20). Swappers take turns in numerical order. Number one unwraps the first gift and shows it to all participants. Number two takes her or his turn next and may either steal the unwrapped gift from number one or pick a wrapped gift from the pile. If number two chooses to take number one's gift, number one opens a new present and the game moves on to number three. This pattern continues until no unopened presents remain. When all is said and done, person number one has the option to keep her or his gift or make the last swap.
