About this event
Join us for a day in the woods for the first ever joint meeting of the Northeast Oregon Small Woodlands Association (NEOSWA) and Pine Valley Firewise Community, as well as the 2nd NEOSWA Annual Meeting. Two local landowners, Mary Camby & Anne Andreucci and Jim & Sharol Chandler, will host a tour of their properties where we will have the opportunity to learn about a variety of forestry, natural resources, and fire related topics including forest management planning, Oregon Forest Practices Act, forest health, home hardening and defensible space, invasive species, and more! Hear from speakers from OSU Extension Service, Oregon Department of Forestry, Bureau of Land Management, Baker County Weed Management, and Pine Valley Fire District.
The tour will begin at 9:00am at Lions Hall in Halfway before departing to each of our two different stops. The tour will conclude back at Lions Hall around 3:00pm. We will have coffee and breakfast food in the morning and a catered lunch from the "Cow Camp" food truck.
The tour will be outdoors, rain (or snow) or shine, and will require moderate walking/hiking so please dress accordingly Admission and food are free, but registration is required. For more details or questions, please contact: NEORWoodlands@gmail.com or Debi Lorence at debilorence@gmail.com.
