Event description

Description

Every 25 minutes a baby is born exposed to opioids.

Maternal opioid use is on the rise which has led to an increase in the proportion of babies experiencing Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS). From 2000 to 2012 there has been an estimated 5-fold increase in babies born with NAS. Newborns with NAS have an average hospital stay of 16.9 days compared with 2.1 days for other newborns, costing an estimated $1.5 billion. This webinar will discuss the scope of the problem as well as nursing interventions to help support the newborn and family experiencing neonatal opioid withdrawal.

Join us for wine, hors’ devours, and good company as we learn together.
