This is a low-stakes learning opportunity for individuals currently, or aspiring to be, in the health professions.
The NEOMED Anatomy Academy features daily morning programming that includes foundational anatomy lectures, small group discussions and case-based clinical vignettes that engage students in understanding the core concepts of human anatomy.
Each afternoon, students actively participate in the dissection of human cadavers, imaging lab sessions, viewing harvested cadaveric brains, spinal cords and organs of the abdominopelvic cavities. Students will also have the opportunity to learn basic suturing techniques.
All sessions are taught by Dana Peterson, Ph.D., an award-winning, nationally-renowned professor of anatomy and neurobiology at NEOMED with assistance from students in the University’s College of Medicine.
All participants must be 16 or older. Transportation and housing is not included.
Enrollment is limited to 20 students. Tuition is $2,500 per student.
One full scholarship will be awarded to a student between the ages of 16-21 who lives within 30 miles of NEOMED. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is May 15. Winners will be notified June 1.
