Workplace Wellness: Initial Steps for Implementation

Health-care costs are on the rise with seemingly no end in sight. This presentation focuses on the ways companies can reduce those costs. Learn concepts such as how wellness programs elicit positive return on investment, the basic steps in the implementation of a wellness program within the workplace and the short and long-term benefits that wellness programs produce.

Employee Wellness: Successfully Engaging Each Generation

Wellness is all around us. From healthier choices on menus, yoga studios on every block and employee wellness programs at work, we are surrounded. The question is, how do we get everyone on board? This presentation will discuss the different generations and how they perceive wellness, as well as how to engage each generation into a worksite wellness program.

2. Describe how each of generation in the workplace perceives wellness.
3. Identify ways for addressing and engaging each generation in a worksite wellness program.

5 Mistakes that are Preventing Success in your Wellness Program

As wellness programs have recently spread rapidly through companies, some are working, but others aren’t. Why? This presentation will review the current statistics for employee participation, healthcare cost reductions, and productivity improvements, with a detailed focus on key components that create successful outcomes. Biometric screenings, education, challenges, wearable technology, online-based programs and incentives will drive the discussion.

  1. Speaker: Jerry Lynch

    Jerry Lynch is passionate about improving the health and wellness of employees while improving the bottom line for business by reducing health care costs.

    For more than 25 years, he has run successful manufacturing businesses where he sponsored weight loss/healthy eating series, walking/running challenges and smoking cessation programs for employees. After discovering his own health risks during a company-sponsored Health Risk Assessment, he redoubled his efforts as a passionate health and wellness advocate. In 2006, his smoking cessation program was highlighted on the front page of Cleveland Crains' Business where he lowered health care costs at his business by helping employees decrease their health risk factors and become more fit. Five years later, he became the co-owner of a leading health and fitness facility.

    In 2013, Jerry founded Central Wellness to offer the tools to other companies seeking to improve employee’s health while lowering health care costs.
    An avid cyclist, Jerry is a spinning instructor, a member of a multi-sport racing team and has completed 4 ironmans, 38 marathons as well as many half and Olympic distance triathlons.

  2. Speaker: Jennifer Stefanak 

    With more than a decade of experience in management of fitness and wellness professionals,Central Wellness President Jennifer Stefanak believes that health and fitness should beincorporated into every facet of life. A dancer for most of her life, she discovered her passion for wellness when she began practicing and then teaching yoga during her college years. She went on to become a health coach in graduate school, where she further cultivated her knowledge and understanding of the various components of holistic health and wellness.

    Jennifer earned her bachelor’s in exercise science and master’s in exercise physiology from Kent State University. She is a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT® 200) through the Yoga Alliance, and a Certified Health Coach and Group Exercise Instructor through theAmerican Council on Exercise. She finds that continued education in all areas of wellness is imperative to her role with Central Wellness, and attends conferences and seminars on aregular basis.

    Today, Jennifer leads companies on their journey to vibrant long-term health and wellness,guiding and supporting them as they work toward reaching their full potential. She understands that wellness in the workplace requires careful attention to detail.

    Jennifer values the client relationship and works closely with the Account Managers to ensuresuccessful progression of the Central Wellness 5-Step Process. She also works closely with the medical director and director of programs to create programs that incorporate stressmanagement, nutrition, emotional guidance, sleep habits, physical activity and more.Recognizing that many people spend most of their day at work, she creates holistic programsthat encourage consistent adherence to wellness practices in the workplace as well as at home.
