Nels Cline + Urban Air: Elevated is an all-star event, benefiting the Urban Air project as well as SHFT Mobile Kitchen Classroom.
Wilco’s Nels Cline— named on both Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Guitarists” and “Top 20 Modern Rock Gods” lists— joins his childhood friend director/choreographer/dancer Sarah Elgart for a one-of-a-kind performance on LoftSEVEN‘s Downtown LA rooftop. The performance is framed by projections by Kevin Kerslake, director of music videos for Nirvana, Depeche Mode, The Rolling Stones; documentaries Nirvana! Live! Tonight! Sold Out!, The Ramones: We’re Outta Here!, Electric Daisy Carnival Experience; and TV miniseries Fallen.
The collaboration headlines a dynamic night of music, dance and art, plus a pop-up art installation curated by a Giant Robot's Eric Nakamura and Kio Griffith.
Donations for General admission include the 8:30pm rooftop performance and the after-show mixer (doors open at 8pm).
Donations for VIP include an artist reception from 6pm to 8pm, featuring small bites by Chef David Lentz of The Hungry Cat and mixology by Ray's & Stark Bar's Paul Sanguinetti.
Conceived by Los Angeles artist Stephen Glassman, Urban Air transforms existing urban billboards into living, suspended bamboo gardens. Embedded with intelligent technology, Urban Air installations become global nodes in addition to being instruments toward a green future. www.urbanair.is
