Durham CROP Hunger Walk donations are used to support hunger alleviation programs. Money raised is split between two organizations. 75% goes to Church World Service and 25% stays in Durham County and is used by Durham Congregations in Action (DCIA) to help our neighbors in need. In order to best serve the most vulnerable in our county, DCIA then allocates the 25% to twelve hunger fighting agencies in Durham. They are:

  • Urban Ministries of Durham
  • Antioch Builds Community
  • Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC
  • Families Moving Forward
  • Housing for New Hope
  • Open Table Ministries
  • Partners for Youth Opportunity
  • Meals on Wheels
  • Mt. Calvary UCC Food Pantry
  • Society of St. Andrew
  • Threshold Clubhouse
  • Double Bucks for SNAP

Who Benefits from the Durham CROP Hunger Walk? CWS receives 75%

Church World Service works with partners to eradicate hunger and poverty and to promote peace and justice around the world. Together we reach out to neighbors in need near and far–not with a hand out, but a hand up.
