Description

Celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Jazz Appreciation Month in Philadelphia! The Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy is bringing FREE performances, dance classes and more to community spaces around the city with 10 free Neighborhood Jazz Days!

Join us on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Queen Memorial Library for the sixth free Neighborhood Jazz Day. This event will feature appearances by V. Shayne Frederick and Brothers.Ink.

Vocalist V. Shayne Frederick approaches the Great American Songbook chestnuts, contemporary soul standards, and other forgotten treasures all with the same sensitive deftness. Brothers.Ink, founded in 2008 by brothers Fareed and Kynoebi Simpson-Hankins, is a versatile band playing a variety of musical styles inspired by jazz, r&b, hip hop, classical, funk, soul and pop to create a party-like atmosphere.

The Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy (OACCE) presents Philly Celebrates Jazz, a celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month in April. All month long, OACCE presents jazz-inspired events in Philadelphia’s neighborhoods and promotes jazz happenings across the city.
