Event description

Description

CONCUR’s intensive two-day workshop is designed to meet the needs of professionals and graduate students alike who are in a position to advise on or negotiate environmental agreements. The training is also an excellent opportunity for graduate students to gain insight into this important field and mingle with mid career professionals.

In this course, we show you how the process of face-to-face negotiation can augment traditional policy making with creative agreements that are better informed and more stable. During the training, course participants will learn the elements of mutual gains bargaining, apply them in a series of hands-on negotiation simulations, and troubleshoot how you personally can apply these tools to everyday work situations.

Course topics include:

*Watershed management, flood protection, and habitat restoration

*Strategies to strengthen sustainable US fisheries

*Air quality management plans

*Coastal and marine spatial planning stakeholder engagement processes

*Funding strategies for infrastructure repair and maintenance

*Guidelines for conservation of protected species

*Accelerating investment in innovative renewable technologies

*Negotiated strategic plans for statewide research investment
