Event Details

CONCUR’s intensive two-day workshop is designed to meet the needs of professionals who are in a position to negotiate environmental agreements. In this course, we show you how the process of face-to-face negotiation can augment traditional policy making with creative agreements that are better informed and more stable. During the training, course members will learn the elements of mutual gains bargaining, apply them in a series of simulated disputes, and reflect on the application of these tools to everyday work situations.

CONCUR, Inc. helps government agencies, communities, business and citizen organizations engage in collaborative problem solving and craft robust solutions to complex environmental and public policy disputes. This assistance is vital as decision-makers at all levels strive to forge effective policies in an increasingly fractious and resource-constrained landscape.

Since 1989, CONCUR has worked both nationally and internationally as environmental policy analysts, facilitators, strategic planners and negotiation trainers to resolve local, regional, statewide, national, and transboundary disputes. Many of our signature cases involve water resources, ocean and coastal resources, land use, and infrastructure projects. Several projects address environmental justice issues or help resolve cross-cultural conflicts involving indigenous and developing country communities. Recent areas of focus are coastal and marine spatial planning, climate change adaptation, air quality, fisheries management, energy efficency, and integration of research investment and economic development.
