Negative Gemini

Negative Gemini is American songwriter, singer, and producer Lindsey French. Known for her contemporary take on electronic indie and her experimentation between genres, the Virginia native released her self-produced album Body Work via her own record label (100% Electronica) after moving to Brooklyn in 2014.

Earning early comparisons to the likes of Hope Sandoval and Gwen Stefani., With its unique blend of underground dance beats and pop hooks, Body Work quickly found itself the darling of many music publications, garnering critical acclaim from prominent sources such as MTV news, Resident Advisor, and The Fader.

She would spend the next two years touring North America on and off with her labelmate George Clanton (also known as ESPRIT) while writing the songs that would come to form Bad Baby.

French’s new EP Bad Baby redefined contemporary electronic, as her sound shifted to focus on a more intimate approach to songwriting. Upon the six track release on January 19th 2018, Bad Baby received further praise from Pitchfork, I-D, Resident Advisor among others, and was named best Bandcamp release of January by FACTmag as well as claimed a spot on their Best of 2018 (so far) list.

Lavender Blush

Based in San Francisco, the noise pop group Lavender Blush was formed by Ryan Lescure, Sam Hewatt, and Chris Howard in early 2016. Their debut release, the Lavender Blush EP, was intended to be a demo and was entirely written, performed, and recorded by Lescure at his apartment on a Tascam 8-track Portastudio.

In February 2018, Lavender Blush spent an afternoon in Los Angeles recording the Part Time Punks Session EP. In addition to Lescure on guitar and vocals, Hewatt on bass, and Howard on drums, this live session features Ana Ramundo (of the San Diego-based group Love Note) on synth, and Jérémie Rüest (of Topographies) on guitar.

Lavender Blush’s newest recording, entitled Beauty Is What Beauty Does To You, was released on April 16, 2019. This entirely home-recorded and self-produced record was recorded collaboratively and includes vocal and synth contributions from Julie Lynn (of Slowness) and Ana Ramundo.
