NCW Regional Housing Summit attendees will learn about best practices and innovative solutions to add more housing inventory in communities.

About this event

Join us for the NCW Regional Housing Summit on June 1 at Wenatchee’s Pybus Public Market! Regional experts will share best practices, innovative solutions and actionable recommendations to add more housing inventory in North Central Washington. Similar to other regions in the country, NCW communities have been grappling with a shortage of attainable and affordable housing, including workforce and low-income housing. Let’s learn from each other and meet the needs of all residents in the region. The event is part of Our Valley Our Future’s broader Regional Housing Approach initiative to advance solutions that meet the surging demand for more diverse, affordable and available housing. The event is being hosted by the Chelan-Douglas Housing Solutions Group.

The keynote address will be delivered by Rory Turner, a Wenatchee developer and former Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority commissioner. Turner will discuss workforce housing opportunities that exist in the redevelopment of property along Columbia Street and Wenatchee Avenue, stretching from Kittitas Street to Fifth Street, in downtown Wenatchee. Approximately $300 million worth of proposed improvements are slated for the area over the next several years.

Other sessions during the Regional Housing Summit:

Unique Housing Types: This session will provide a look at unique yet affordable housing types, including steel and glass homes. Presenters are Dash Morris of Dashael Vincent & Co. in Leavenworth and Tom Derpack of Caliber Home Loans.
