Event description

Description

Each year, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc.’s (NCBW) local Georgia chapters host a Legislative Day at the GA State Capitol during the legislative session. The goal is to have members of NCBW gather collectively at the Capitol to visit with their respective legislators to advocate on issues of importance to NCBW as it relates to African American women and girls.

This year's theme is “Count My Vote,” keeping in line with one of our national initiatives on Voter Rights and in response to voter suppression challenges experienced in the mid-term elections in the state of Georgia.

The 2019 NCBW Legislative Day will be held Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Georgia State Capitol in the Coverdell Legislative Office Building, 18 Capitol Square SW, Atlanta, GA 30334. The cost of this event is $20 and includes a hot breakfast. Hot breakfast will be served at 8:00 am.

We look forward to working with each of you in 2019 as we try to ensure that “Count My Vote” is the theme going into the 2020 Election and Beyond.

All members are asked to wear uninterrupted black with pearls.
