Description

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women is conducting the “One Thousand Rides” Campaign which is a multi-faceted initiative addressing the health concerns of those residing in the Greater Fairfield and Greater New Haven areas. The objective of the “One Thousand Rides” campaign is to pay or subsidize the transportation costs for women undergoing chemo and radiation treatment for breast cancer throughout Connecticut. Twelve dollars will pay for a one way ride to treatment. Please visit us at our website: ncbwct.org

As part of “The One Thousand Rides Initiative” on October 21,2017, the NCBW will have a full day’s health event. On every half hour starting at 10 a.m medical professionals will be on hand to discuss the prevention, warning signs and emerging treatment for (1) colon cancer, (2) heart disease, (3) diabetes and (4) childhood obesity.

On-site mammography: This event will also offer Yale’s New Haven Health on-site mammography van for breast screenings. To register for the mammography van, please email Karrol-Ann at:
