Event description

Description

Help NCADD celebrate 70 years of service in Mississippi and honor Tom Kepner!

The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence of Central MS (NCADD) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization based in Ridgeland. NCADD believes in the concept of drug addiction as a treatable disease, rather than a moral failing. NCADD provides educational materials and information that are in line with this belief. NCADD serves as a resource for those seeking answers for themselves and/or their loved ones. NCADD aspires to make a real difference in the state through partnerships, coalitions, and collaborative projects.

NCADD stands firm on 3 Pillars. The 3 Pillars represent the three areas of focus we strive to deliver to those that need it most: Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery.

In the area of Prevention, NCADD provides educational inventions/programs and activities to children, adolescents, young adults, educators, and professionals across the state on life skills and the dangers of drugs and alcohol as well as strategies to avoid them altogether. In the area of Treatment, NCADD directs hundreds of people every year seeking help to the appropriate services based on their needs. NCADD encourages individuals and families to take advantage of the free initial consultation services to steer them in the right direction (residential, outpatient, detox, etc.). NCADD focuses on the individual as a “whole” person and offers an array of ancillary services to enhance treatment success. In the area of Recovery, NCADD is a resource for those looking for support groups and other addiction recovery groups across the state. NCADD also hosts weekly Nar-Anon meetings for relatives and friends who are concerned about the addiction or drug problem of another. Our Recovery bookstore supplies give those in recovery and local treatment centers the opportunity to find the encouragement and support they need with books and gifts that inspire lifelong recovery and personal growth.

Your attendance and donations will ensure that more Mississippians receive services to keep them healthy and sober!

NCADD’s 70th Annual Celebration will be held at The Place at Harbour Crossing in Ridgeland, on Thursday, September 19, 2019, doors open at 6:00 p.m. There will also be food, silent auction, and local live music.
