New Learning Session 1: Research on Health impact of e-cigarettes and other new and emerging tobacco products – What Practitioners Should Know – UNC School of Medicine TCORs team Flori Sassano, Ilona Jaspers and Arunava Ghosh

New Learning Session 2: Research on Messaging Risk of e-cigarettes and other Emerging Tobacco Products – UNC School of Public Health TCORS team members Seth Noar and Erin Sutfin

Working Lunch – Thank you to our partners the American Heart Association and American Cancer Society for providing lunch!

  • “Tobacco 21” – a panel discussion including the national perspective from Amy Barkley, Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids and a NC Response on Readiness to Address this Promising Practice

BREAKOUT Small Group Discussions. Coalition members may choose among these Breakout Groups; time will permit rotating to 2 groups if that is preferable:

  1. Expanding Access to Evidence-based Tobacco Treatment in NC (Sally Herndon facilitator)
  2. Policy Perspectives: State and Local, Local and State – how does local policy work impact state policy work and vice versa? Where are the opportunities? (Jim Martin and Sarah Jacobson Facilitator)
  3. Data Nerds Rock: Best Methods for the Evaluation of Incremental Progress (UNC TPEP and Courtney Heck facilitators)

Closing Session: Policy Priorities for 2018-2019 and beyond in Tobacco Prevention and Control: Further Developing the Coalition’s Action Agenda Large group facilitated discussion led by CDC’s Office on Smoking or Health’s Judy Ahearn

From Durham:
Take US-70 E ramp toward Raleigh. Merge onto US-70 Bypass E. (US-70 Bypass E becomes US- 70 E). Merge onto 1-540 E via EXIT 292. Take Six Forks Road South – EXIT 11. Turn slight right onto Six Forks Road South. Go through 2 stoplights (Leadmine and Strickland). At the 3rd Stoplight, turn right on Forum Drive. Keep straight for about ¼ mile. Health Park is on the left.

Take 147 S to 1-40 E toward Raleigh. Merge onto 1-540 E via EXIT 283 toward US-70. Take Six Forks Road South – EXIT 11. Turn slight right onto Six Forks Road South. Go through 2 stoplights (Leadmine and Strickland). At the 3 Stoplight, turn right on Forum Drive. Keep straight for about ¼ mile. Health Park is on the left.

From Chapel Hill:
Take NC 54 to 1-40 E toward Raleigh.
Merge onto 1-540 E via EXIT 283 toward US-70.
Take Six Forks Road South — EXIT 11.
Turn slight right onto Six Forks Road South.
Go through 2 stoplights (Leadmine and Strickland).
At the 3rd Stoplight, turn right on Forum Drive.
Keep straight for about ¼ mile.Health Park is on the left.

From Wilmington:
Take 1-40 West and merge onto 1-440 E via EXIT 301
Take the Six Forks Road Exit — EXIT 8 B — toward North Hills.
Turn right at the intersection at top of ramp onto Six Forks Road.
Go through many intersections. You will see a Business Complex on your left called “The Forum” and a water tower.
The next light will be Forum Drive. Turn left onto Forum Drive.
Keep straight for about ¼ mile, Health Park is on the left.

From Rocky Mount/Wilson/Greenville:
Take 64 W to Raleigh. Take 1-540, EXIT 423.
Take Six Forks Road South – EXIT 11.
Turn left at intersection at top of ramp onto Six Forks Road South.
Go through 2 stoplights (Leadmine and Strickland).
At the 3rd Stoplight, turn right on Forum Drive.
Keep straight for about ¼ mile. Health Park is on the left.

Building Entrance Directions

Once on Health Park, continue straight until you see the sign marked Entrance E - Conference Center

Turn left at the sign and park in the parking lot in front of the lake area

**If you pass the “Entrance E – Conference Center” sign you have gone too far.

Walk down the paved road past the Volunteer parking spaces until you see a large patio area with tables and umbrellas

Across the patio are the Entrance E doors which open to the ACS Raleigh office
