(Detroit, MI) September 13, 2018 - The National Black MBA Association® (NBMBAA®) Detroit Chapter and the Wayne State University Mike Ilitch School of Business will hold a welcome reception, themed: “Welcome to Detroit: America’s Great Comeback City” in honor of the NBMBAA® Annual Conference and Exposition returning to Detroit September 25-29, 2018 at COBO Center. The first annual conference of the association was held in Detroit in 1979. 2018 marks a momentous year as the conference returns to Detroit to celebrate its 40th Anniversary!

The reception will be held at the newly constructed Ilitch School building at 2771 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, MI 48201 on Monday, September 24, 2018, from 6:30-8:30pm. The purpose of this reception is to welcome National Black MBA Association® board members, chapter leaders, staff, and conference attendees to the City of Detroit. About the National Black MBA Association® Detroit Chapter

The National Black MBA Association® (NBMBAA®) Detroit Chapter is a 501(c)(3) business professional organization, incorporated in the state of Michigan in 1976. The mission of the NBMBAA® Detroit Chapter is to champion diversity and inclusion initiatives within corporate America and provide professional development opportunities to membership. The Detroit Chapter is one of the ten largest chapters within the NBMBAA®. Since its founding in 1976, NBMBAA® Detroit has developed many advanced professionals and awarded over $400,000 in educational scholarships to students pursuing degrees in business. The Detroit Chapter is an awarding winning chapter within the association, having received the 2014 & 2015 Chapter of the Year Award, 2015 Education Channel Award, and the 2016 and 2017 Lifestyle Channel Award. The Chapter’s Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) students won second prize in the 2018 NBMBAA® LOT Case Competition, receiving $10,000 in college scholarships.
