Event description
New Bedford Creative Peer-to-Peer Sessions is a free online series of trainings and workshops.

About this event

Peer-to-Peer Sessions is a free and accessible online series geared to enrich, educate and connect creatives through a series of workshops and training sessions. New Bedford is the home of artists, creatives, change makers, designers, entrepreneurs and community enthusiasts and the Peer-to-Peer Sessions embraces the pulse that makes New Bedford so unique while expanding our knowledge and connections.

In anticipation of the many funding opportunities through federal, state, and local pandemic recovery efforts, today’s session will focus on grant writing and grant finding with guest speaker Abigail Hevey, Manager of Grants & Development for Coastal Foodshed.

Abby Hevey is the Manager of Grants & Development for Coastal Foodshed. Abby began working in communications and development in 2011 and has written and managed a number of successful grant applications from private, state, and federal funders. Abby also consults as a grant writer and manager for a number of local nonprofits, and has successfully secured grant funding for a range of projects, including infrastructure, youth programs, arts and culture programs, capital projects, local food programs, mental health programs, and more. Abby is also a Trustee for The Millicent Library in Fairhaven, and is the Chair of the Fairhaven Cultural Council, supporting the distribution and awarding of grants to support local artists and cultural events.
