Join us as we discuss how CFO’s can successfully manage the necessary operational responsibilities while effectively contributing to and helping guide the greater strategic plan of their organizations.

Our panel of experts will discuss:

  • Where CFOs are expected to contribute in the strategic planning process to demonstrate value and leadership to the organization
  • How the CFO can be the “voice of reason” in the heated debate during the planning cycle
  • Best practices to successfully engage other areas of the business in the planning cycle
  • Advice on minimizing major planning pitfalls, including lack of accountability or commitment, sandbagging, etc

  • Approach the budgeting and planning process with a clearer understanding of board & CEO expectations
  • Effectively manage both their operational and strategic roles and responsibilities including maximizing internal resources to take control of day-to-day operations
  • Recognize common pitfalls in the strategy process and how to avoid them
  • Effectively communicate the strategic vision and business plan on an ongoing basis
  • Adapt the planning cycle to the evolution stage of the company, recognizing value drivers and how they impact the business model and financial plan
  • Leverage existing internal resources during the planning process
  • Maintain an equitable balance between fiscal responsibility and strategic leadership when “selling” the budget

Non-member senior financial executives who are CFOs, Vice Presidents of Finance, Directors of Finance and Controllers (or the like) are welcome to attend this program for $60.

Please note that service providers or any executives who are not senior financial executives (CFOs, Vice Presidents of Finance, Controllers, Directors of Finance, etc.) will not be admitted attendance to this event. The CFO Leadership Council reserves the right to decline any registration.

About our Speakers:

Andrew Cherry, Managing Director, KPMG LLP.

Andrew Cherry is a Managing Director in the Tax practice of KPMG’s Philadelphia office.

Andrew’s clients include early, middle and late stage growth companies that are backed with private equity and venture capital and middle market public and private company. His experience includes advising clients on transactional tax planning for matters involving a broad range of corporate and partnership/limited liability company issues.

Andrew also assists his clients with their day to day federal income tax matters which include tax compliance, general corporate tax planning, tax accounting methods, counseling clients on the tax aspects of merger and acquisition transactions, and representing clients before the Internal Revenue Service at the examination and appeals level.

Andrew is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, sits on the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Alliance For Capital and Technology, the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia/Israel Chamber of Commerce, is Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Enterprise Center of West Philadelphia, serves the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, and is a member of the Advisory Board to the School of Business Administration at Philadelphia University. Andrew also serves as a judge in the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School Business Plan Competition and serves as a coach for emerging growth companies in the Dream It Program. 

Kimberly Gress, Chief Operating Officer, Tesorio, Inc.

Kimberly is the Chief Operating Officer at Tesorio, Inc, managing the early stage company’s day to day operations.

Prior to Tesorio, Kimberly was a leader at Dell Boomi where she was responsible for customer enablement, support and success.  During her time at Dell Boomi, Kimberly was recognized as a trusted source for SaaS customer success and support; this along with her co-invention of a patented system for identifying “at-risk” customers, a game changer for smart customer success, led to her being named “2014 Top 10 Women in the Cloud” by CloudNOW, “Female Executive of the Year” by The Stevie Awards and “Innovative Woman of the Year for Cloud Computing/SaaS” by Women World Awards.

Prior to Dell Boomi, Kimberly served in a variety of senior management positions at SunGard Higher Education including General Manager of a product line, management of a large product development team and the program management of 3 acquisitions.  

Kimberly earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science / Mathematics from the University of Delaware. 

Kimberly is passionate about building the next generation of leaders. She volunteers her time mentoring others and building the programming for the Philly Women in Tech Summit.  Kimberly takes great pride in watching her former mentees and employees enjoy their dream career journeys come true.

Chris McNabb, General Manager, Dell Boomi

Chris brings over 20 years of software development and line-of-business experience from a diverse set of leadership and engineering roles in professional services and consulting organizations. As the General Manager of Dell Boomi, Chris is responsible for all operations and strategic direction. He engages with customers and partners to support their business needs and drive the successful adoption and use of Dell Boomi solutions.

Chris joined the Dell Boomi team in 2011 following a 12-year career with SunGard Higher Education, most recently as SVP of worldwide software development, where he was responsible for all software execution, delivery and quality for more than 1,600 customers. Prior to SunGard, Chris spent two years as a management consultant at a subsidiary of Pennsylvania Blue Shield advising on project management and quality assurance initiatives to improve development execution. Chris started his career in software development in the financial services sector holding various engineering and management roles.

Chris attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania (MIS) and Villanova (Business).

Art Olson, VP Finance, Campbell Soup Company

Art is a business executive with expertise in business transformation, finance and shared services. 

Art most recently led the North American finance & accounting shared services team for Campbell Soup Company.  Prior to that he was Campbell’s Assistant Controller where he led the company’s global financial planning activities.  For the majority of his career at Campbell’s he has been involved in FP&A.  The roles included leading teams responsible for the company’s largest division, the flagship Soup business unit and other popular consumer products. 

Art has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Information Technology from the University of Arkansas.
